Ireland iTunes Music Store postponed at last minute

Macworld UK reports that Apple had originally planned to launch an iTunes Music Store for Ireland consumers alongside the other European countries Tuesday, but held back at the last minute due to a disagreement with the Irish Music Rights Organization (IMRO). The disagreements have now been resolved, according to Phonographic Performance Ireland (PPI) sources. However, a spokesperson for IMRO today said it is “currently negotiating with Apple,” confirming that “negotiations haven’t concluded, yet.” Apple this week expanded its iTMS to Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal and Spain.
