Hewlett-Packard debuts ‘Apple iPod from HP’

Hewlett-Packard’s online store is now taking pre-orders for the “Apple iPod from HP,” the company’s long-awaited version of the iPod. HP is offering both the 20GB and 40GB models for $299.99 and $399.99, respectively — the same prices as Apple. The Apple iPod from HP, which will begin shipping on September 15, is white (not blue as the original device shown) and appears to offer identical features to Apple’s own fourth-generation version. In early January, HP said that it would begin selling a branded version of Apple’s iPod and bundling iTunes with its desktops and notebooks as part of a partnership with Apple.
