Michael Tsai has released SpamSieve 2.2, an update to his Bayesian spam filtering utility for popular e-mail clients such as Apple Mail, Mailsmith, Entourage, PowerMail, and Eudora 6. This update includes: improved accuracy; easier (more automatic) training; searchable and AppleScriptable corpus and rules; the ability to import addresses into the blocklist and whitelist; additional notification options (such as flashing a Griffin PowerMate); and automatically adds the recipients of outgoing messages to the whitelist. In addition, SpamSieve 2.2 includes an updated Apple Mail plug-in that protects against Web bugs, colors messages according to how “spammy” they are, and moves false positives back to the proper inbox. SpamSieve sells for US$25.
