Accel-KKR, the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (Teachers’) and Alias management have announced the completion of the acquisition of Alias from SGI for US$57.5 million. Accel-KKR is a technology-focused private equity firm and Teachers’ is one of Canada’s largest pension plans with net assets of more than CDN$75 billion; it’s responsible for investing in assets and administering the pensions of Ontario’s 250,000 active and retired teachers. Alias is a provider of 3D graphics technology and services for the film, video games, Web, interactive media, automotive, industrial design, education and visualization markets, as well as software products such as Maya.
