‘Shrek 2’ knocks ‘nemo’ from top animated film spot

In just three weeks, “Shrek 2” has become the biggest animated film ever, topping Pixar’s “Finding Nemo.” “The sequel to the 2001 animated hit took in an estimated $24 million over the weekend to reach $354 million,” reports USA Today. “Nemo netted $339.7 million after seven months in theaters. That makes the DreamWorks comedy about an ogre and his lady love the ninth-biggest movie ever.”
