Music festival to utilize iTunes shared playlists

This year’s South by Southwest music festival, which takes place March 17 to 21 in Austin, Texas, will offer this year’s music library free via iTunes’ shared music playlist, reports Wired. Austin has free wireless Internet access in nearly 30 restaurants and cafes throughout the city, so fans will be able to access the music library these locations. “If someone launches iTunes, these 600 songs will pop up in their iTunes,” said Scott Wilcox, chief technical adviser for the event. “Because we have their audio in-house, we’re able to — with the appropriate permission — make these tracks available for free as part of the promotion for playing South by Southwest.”
