Macworld UK: G5 PowerBooks later this year?

According to an article on Macworld UK today, microprocessor experts believe that Apple is set to release not only speed-bumped G5 desktops this year, but also G5 PowerBooks. “In announcing the new Xserve G5 at MacWorld Expo, Apple CEO Steve Jobs glossed over what we consider the most interesting fact about the new system: it represents the debut of IBM’s 90nm (nanometer) PowerPC 970FX, which Apple calls the G5,” said In-Stat/MDR’s Microprocessor Watch Editor-in-Chief Peter Glaskowsky in the story. With the lower power consumption required by this new processor, it paves the way for G5-based PowerBooks, Glaskowsky feels.
