Ovolab releases InTouch preview, controls Macs by telephone

Ovolab releases InTouch preview, controls Macs by telephone.

Apple Expo 2003, Paris, France (Europe) – Sep 16, 2003 – Ovolab(tm) today
announced Ovolab InTouch(tm), a breakthrough telephony product for the
Macintosh.

Combined with the Ovolab Telephone Adapter, a small USB device, Ovolab
InTouch can answer telephone calls and identify the caller through Caller
ID.

Once a call has been answered, Ovolab InTouch is able to record a message,
store it on the computer, and send it by email to a predefined email
address – encoded in a highly-compressed format such as AAC or 3GPP (the
latter can turn a one-minute message into a small, 60KB attachment).

Additionally, Ovolab InTouch can be set to execute scripts, launch
applications or open documents by simply pressing numbers on the telephone
keypad during the call.

“You can finally merge voicemail into email,” says Alberto Ricci, author or
Ovolab InTouch, “and receive your voicemail on your computer anywhere in
the world.” Many users will also benefit from the possibility of launching
scripts by dialing sequences of numbers: turn filesharing on or off, print
documents, restart a server – the possibilities are endless, thanks to the
power of AppleScript and Ovolab technology.

Ovolab InTouch requires the Ovolab Telephone Adapter. During the week of
Sep 16-20, 2003, at Apple Expo in Paris, Ovolab will be offering a bundle
of the two products, only available at the Ovolab booth.

Introduced today at Apple Expo Paris 2003, a preview version of Ovolab
InTouch is available now for electronic download from the Ovolab web site
at http://www.ovolab.com/intouch/ .

The Ovolab Telephone Adapter can only be purchased at the show; online
ordering will be available starting early October.
