Seybold, OracleWorld hit with bomb scare

Seybold and OracleWorld conference attendees were evacuated from San Francisco’s Moscone Center Wednesday due to a bomb threat. “The evacuation started during a keynote presentation at the OracleWorld conference by Ken Jacobs, an Oracle vice president,” reports eWeek. “The north and south halls of Moscone Center, currently housing Oracle’s largest trade show of the year, were evacuated first about 15 minutes into the 2:30 p.m. [PT] keynote… The evacuation was extended about a half hour later to the new west wing of the convention center where the Seybold Seminar San Francisco 2003 conference was being held.”
