Australian Apple resellers experience iPod drought

Apple resellers in Australia are currently dealing with a “dire” iPod supply situation. “We’ve been averaging a hundred calls a day,” said Adam Steinhardt, director of Next Byte. “It’s been a drought for six weeks. Supply has been trickling through.” According to ARN, shoppers looking for an iPod are turning to Internet auction sites like eBay, where they are actually bidding above the suggested retail price of a new model. “We’ve been flabberghasted by demand,” said Arno Lenior, Apple Australia’s marketing manager.
