Apple to continue Mac OS X feline theme

It seems Apple will continue the feline naming theme for future Mac OS X updates. Numerous readers note that Apple filed trademarks earlier this month with the US Patent & Trademark Office for the names Lynx, Cougar, Leopard, and Tiger. The trademarks were filed under the category of “computers; computer software; computer operating system software.” As many know, Apple has highly publicized and referred to Mac OS X 10.2 as Jaguar and the forthcoming 10.3 update as Panther, their original code names. The initial Mac OS X release was dubbed internally with the code name of Cheetah, and Mac OS X 10.1, which was released in September 2001, was referred to as Puma.
