Apple poised to capture 20% of US music download market

Needham analyst Charles Wolf has said in a recent report that Apple is in a position where it could capture 20 percent of the paid music download market in the United States, reports Macworld UK. Wolf says that the iTunes store provides a “arguably superior customer experience,” and while the profit on downloadable songs (less than ten cents per song, he estimates) is low, Apple stands to cash in on iPod sales as well.
