‘Macworld Lite’ expected to draw low numbers

The San Francisco Chronicle notes that the east coast’s annual Mac trade show kicks off today under a new name, but that attendees might dub it “Macworld Lite.” Macworld CreativePro Conference & Expo “may not draw even half as many attendees and exhibitors as last year’s and surely will not come close to the nearly 90,000 attendees at the annual Macworld Expo in San Francisco in January.” By last week, about 13,000 people and about 130 exhibitors had registered for the event, according to the publication. Last year’s show drew 58,000 people and 245 exhibitors.
