HP announces new solutions/price cuts for SMBs

HP today introduced new services, programs and products for small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Unveiled today are the HP LaserJet 1300 and 2300 series printers, offering more features and greater flexibility to adapt printing capabilities according to users’ needs, says HP. The LaserJet 1300, priced from US$399, offers output at up to 20 pages per minute (ppm) and a first-page-out time of less than eight seconds. Two models of the 1300 are available, one with networking built-in and one intended for direct-connect use. The new LaserJet 2300 printer series, priced from $549, is available in a total of six models, offering users a wide range of feature and expandability options. With a print speed of 25 ppm (up to 20 ppm with the LaserJet 2300L) and a first-page-out in less than 10 seconds, the 2300 series offers high-quality output with 1,200 dots-per-inch resolution. In terms of Mac support, the networked versions of the LaserJet 1300 and LaserJet 2300 are Rendezvous-compatible — the Rendezvous code resides in the JetDirect print servers. In addition, the new models are 100% compatible with Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar) and Mac OS 9 Classic out of the box, HP told MacMinute.
