FireWire Depot has announced the release of two compact 2.5″ external FireWire/USB hard drive enclosures — the Cutie DX (US$124) and the Cutter ($119). Both cases can be bus-powered, offer three connectivity solutions (FireWire, USB 2.0 and USB 1.1), and accept 9.5mm laptop drives (currently as large as 60GB). FireWire Depot also announced several new FireWire 800 (1394b) products, which should be available in April/May. These products include 3.5″ and 5.25″ enclosures, PCI cards, cables, adapters and more.
