Sony today introduced an external Advanced Intelligent Tape (AIT) drive that features both USB 2.0 and FireWire connectors for plug-and-play connectivity with most Macs and PCs. It offers maximum compressed capacities from 91 to 130GB and maximum native data transfer rates from 4 to 6MB per second. The drive is available now for US$899.
