Apple updates Final Cut Express, X11

Apple today posted Final Cut Express 1.0.1, the first update to the application based on its Final Cut Pro movie editing software and optimized for the DV format. The update improves performance and stability, links keyframe parameters to the Motion tab, and adds NTSC and PAL noncontrollable device presets. Apple also released version 0.2.1 of its X11 for Mac OS X public beta, which allows X11-based applications to run side-by-side with native Mac OS X applications and makes it easier to port X11-based applications to the Mac. According to Apple, the installer now defaults to replacing /etc/X11, to use quartz-wm instead of twm. The update comes only a day after the 0.2 release.
