Google beats out Apple for “Brand of the Year”

Google, the popular Internet search engine, was voted “Brand of the Year” in a ballot conducted by Interbrand, a British agency that assists companies in developing their products, reports Reuters. Professionals and students from 72 countries were asked which brand had made the most impact on their lives in 2002. Google received 15% of the 1,315 votes. Apple finished in second place with 14% of the vote, followed by Coca-Cola, Starbucks and Ikea.
