Iomega today announced the release of its new Iomega HDD 60GB Portable Hard Drive, a transportable drive for mobile users. The new 4200RPM drive weighs in at about eight ounces and is about the size of a standard PDA. In addition, it is available in either Hi-Speed USB (USB 2.0, backwards compatible with USB 1.1) or FireWire configurations, with the ability to swap back and forth between the two interfaces. The Iomega HDD 60GB Portable Hard Drive is available now and has a suggested retail price of US$379.95 for the Hi-Speed USB interface (USB 2.0) and $399.95 with the FireWire interface.
