Smith Micro has announced a new version of its QuickLink Mobile data connectivity product for Mac OS X. The new QuickLink Mobile enables users to utilize their built-in USB port to connect to the Internet via their cell phone. The product offers “anytime access to email, file uploads/downloads, web surfing or your company’s Intranet without being plugged into a network or modem line connection.” QuickLink Mobile (US$59.95) works with select phones from Motorola, Ericsson, Audiovox, and LG. It is compatible with AT&T Wireless, Cingular Wireless, Nextel, Telus Mobility, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless networks.
