iMac: “Designed like a Picasso and priced accordingly”

As part of his 2002 Dubious Achievements in Personal Computing, Associated Press writer Larry Blasko has given the “Designed Like A Picasso And Priced Accordingly” award to Apple for the design of its latest iMac. Blasko writes that the iMac looks like “half a round melon impaled with a bent easel,” and that “you have to shell out $1,499 to get one with a CD-RW drive, chugging along on a 700-megahertz processor.” The writer gave out several other awards, including the “Work In Progress” award for Windows XP.
