XtremeMac iRise ship date, price reduction and name change

XtremeMac today sent out an announcement addressing the delay in the shipment of its iRise, which was announced at Macworld Expo New York in July. The iRise, a FireWire and USB hub with an illuminated base that sits directly beneath the iMac, will now ship on December 26. XtremeMac has also elected to reduce the number of FireWire expansion ports from 4 to 2. “This lowered our costs. We are passing that savings on to you. The retail price of iRise is now $129.95. This is the amount you will be charged,” the company said. Additionally, due to a conflict with a software engineering application, the name of the device has been changed to U.F.O. — USB. FireWire. Organizer.
