WiebeTech today announced a new High Capacity version of its popular external DesktopGB drive, with capacities of up to 250GB. The new drives offer the ability to support ATA-6 drives in FireWire mode while retaining USB 1.0 and USB 2.0 functionality for drives with ATA-5 capacities. The external drives feature 7,200 RPM spin speeds and are available in driveless (US$139.95), 80GB ($259.95), 120GB ($319.95), 180GB ($479.95), 200GB ($529.95), and 250GB/5400 RPM ($559.95) configurations.
