Formac today announced a price drop on two of its popular external FireWire drives. The Devideon SuperDrive is now available for US$399 (previously $549). The external FireWire DVD-R/CD-RW drive comes bundled with Formac DVD authoring software, and has been updated with the new Pioneer A05 mechanism, allowing increased writing speeds of 4x for DVD-Rs. The CDRW 40, a CD-RW drive with 40x write, 12x re-write and 48x reading speed was lowered to $159. It comes bundled with Roxio Toast LE and incorporates Burn-Proof technology.
