Apple has posted a SuperDrive Update page on its Web site that details the problem with the drive and new high-speed media, and offers further information on updating your system. The page also has a list of frequently asked questions, and contains a link to the Mac OS X iMac SuperDrive firmware update. The page notes that the 17″ flat-panel iMac, the SuperDrive eMac, and the new SuperDrive Power Mac G4 (introduced in August 2002) already have the latest update, and are ready for the new media. The SuperDrive update for iMacs for Mac OS 9, as well as the updates for affected Power Mac G4s, will be posted shortly, according to the update page.
