Future FileMaker Pro Development to be Mac OS X Only

FileMaker Pro 6 Stars At Apple Expo

Entire FileMaker line on Mac OS X highlighted; Future FileMaker development
for Mac OS to be ‘Mac OS X only’

APPLE EXPO, PARIS – Sept. 10, 2002 – The new FileMaker Pro 6 — powerful
new database software with easier-than-ever templates and tools, and a
virtually limitless ability to gather, manage and share information — is
the star of FileMaker presence at Apple Expo, opening here today.

The FileMaker stand is B77/C76 in Hall 4, Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles.

FileMaker will spotlight its entire new product line, including FileMaker
Mobile 2, running on Mac OS X.

Attendees will learn how FileMaker Pro 6 easily imports large numbers of
images from a folder into a database, and, on Mac OS X only, captures
digital images and image-data directly from cameras.

With integrated XML (Extensible Markup Language) import and export,
FileMaker Pro 6 delivers the benefits of virtually limitless information
exchange. XML support means FileMaker can integrate and exchange data with
many applications, without complex converting between proprietary formats.

FileMaker announced it intends to develop new software for Mac OS X, and
not for earlier Mac OS versions. The company plans that the new FileMaker 6
line will be its last developed for Mac OS 9.

“FileMaker sees strong adoption of Mac OS X among our customers and
developers, and by focusing on Mac OS X, we can best harness and deliver
its benefits,” said Dominique Goupil, FileMaker president. “A recent survey
of our customers showed us that 41 percent of those using FileMaker on Mac
OS are already running on Mac OS X. That’s a remarkable adoption rate.”

FileMaker is a leader in workgroup databases and workgroup information
solutions. Unlike complex database software, the FileMaker intuitive
