Jaguar breaks Mac OS record

Apple today announced that more than 100,000 copies of Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar) were sold worldwide during its first weekend, setting a new record for Mac OS sales for a single weekend. Apple also said that more than 50,000 people visited Apple’s 35 retail stores during Friday night’s “100 Minutes of Jaguar” launch event. “Jaguar is our fastest out-of-the-gate OS release ever, and it’s looking like a home run,” said Apple CEO Steve Jobs. “The reviews are off the charts, and customers are raving about Jaguar’s stability, speed, new features and Windows compatibility.”
