Sony today announced a new line of rechargeable batteries designed for digital cameras and other high-performance consumer devices, as well as a new compact advanced charger that can fully charge up to four AA or AAA Ni-MH or NiCd batteries in an hour. A starter pack consists of two AA batteries and the charger, and sells for “less than US$35.” Additional batteries may be purchased separately.
