Gateway will unveil the Profile 4, an all-in-one PC with a 15-inch or 17-inch LCD display, on August 26, according to c|net. Analysts are already saying that Gateway’s newest offering will position the company to do battle with Apple’s flat-panel iMac. The Profile 4 takes after Gateway’s recently implemented “platinum” style PC design, which has also drawn parallels with Apple’s PowerBook G4. The Profile 4 will be available in three basic models, starting with a 15-inch display and 1.7GHz Intel Celeron processor for US$999 and ranging up to a 17-inch display model with a 2.66GHz Pentium 4 and DVD/CD-RW combo drive for $1,999.
