E.Digital introduces iPod look-alike

E.Digital today announced its new Odyssey 1000 digital jukebox and data storage device, which bears a striking resemblance to Apple’s iPod. The device uses e.Digital’s own MicroOS 2.0, which also looks very similar to the iPod’s menu system. The Odyssey 1000 is Mac and PC compatible, features a 20GB hard drive, FM tuner, MP3 and Windows Media WMA playback, and uses a USB 2.0 connection to transfer music. The device also features e.Digital’s VoiceNav user-interface based on Lucent’s speech recognition technology, allowing users to navigate through their music via their own voice, and is also a voice recorder with a built-in microphone. The Odyssey 1000 will be available this fall for US$349.00.
