MacSpeech Announces New Scriptpaks

MACSPEECH ANNOUNCES NEW SCRIPTPAKS

Macworld Expo, New York, NY – July 19, 2002 – Macintosh speech recognition
authority MacSpeech, Inc. today announced ScriptPaks for QuarkXPress and
iTunes. ScriptPaks are plug-ins that add application-specific commands to
the company’s popular iListen program, as well as its free Mac OS 9-only
ListenDo! utility.

The QuarkXPress ScriptPak gives QuarkXPress users a “third hand” by
providing voice access to over 125 commands in QuarkXPress. “Virtually any
keyboard shortcut you used to do by hand can now be done simply by
speaking,” said MacSpeech Chief Evangelist Chuck Rogers. “This ScriptPak is
the first in a series of more complex ScriptPaks especially created for
design professionals.” The QuarkXPress ScriptPak is expected to sell for $39
from the company’s web site.

The iTunes 2 ScriptPak allows the user to control iTunes even when it is not
the front-most application. “Users can skip to the next song, raise or lower
the volume, pause, fast forward, and rewind, all by using their voice,” said
Rogers. The iTunes 2 ScriptPak will sell for $15 from the MacSpeech web
site. A ScriptPak for iTunes 3 is in the works and should be available by
the time the company releases its forthcoming Mac OS X products, iListen 1.3
and iDictate 1.0.

Both ScriptPaks are in final testing and will be released as soon as testing
is completed.

MacSpeech can be found at Macworld Expo in booth 2023E. The current version
of iListen is available for sale at the expo from DevDepot —
