MakeMusic! Inc. today announced the release of its Finale 2003 music notation software for the Mac. New features of Finale 2003 for Macintosh include an advanced music scanning technology that provides a new level of optical music character recognition, new TAB notation features that allow users to enter music in a traditional staff and see it displayed automatically in a TAB staff or vice versa, a Rhythm Section Generator that allows arrangers to automatically compose piano, bass and drum parts for any melody with chords, and more. Finale retails for US$600 with a 50% discount for educators, students and music Ministers. Finale 2003 requires Mac OS 8.6 or higher and operates in Classic mode under OS X.
