GeForce4 Titanium arrives for Power Macs next month

Ahead of NVIDIA’s official GeForce4 announcement expected later today, Apple this morning announced that the GeForce4 Titanium — the high-end version of the GeForce4 video card — will be available as a build-to-order option in Power Mac G4 systems next month. The 4x AGP card features 128MB of double data rate (DDR) SDRAM capable of processing more than 87 million triangles per second and 4.9 billion textured pixels per second — a very significant boost over the GeForce4 MX’s purported performance of “well over 1 billion textured pixels per second.” The GeForce4 Titanium will be available as a US$250 option on the 933MHz and dual-1GHz Power Mac G4 systems, and as a $350 option on the 800MHz system. The card will also be available as a stand-alone kit for current Power Mac G4 owners to add to their systems for $399.
