Xerox yesterday evening announced it has won a suit against 3Com regarding Palm’s Graffiti handwriting recognition software, which was found to infringe upon a Xerox patent. The ruling paves the way for Xerox to seek damages, which it said might include forcing Palm to stop making its handheld organizers or to license the technology. Palm today said it would appeal the ruling, asserting that Graffiti does not infringe upon any patents.
