Blizzard Entertainment has released native Mac OS X versions of its popular real-time strategy game, StarCraft, and expansion pack Brood War. The new versions require Mac OS X 10.1 or later. In addition, UDP networking has been implemented in the Mac OS X versions of the titles; updates to the Classic Mac and Windows versions will also add this new feature, allowing multiplayer LAN play between the three different operating systems. The company’s upcoming role-playing/strategy game, WarCraft III: Reign of Chaos, will ship in 2002 as a Carbon application for both OS 8/9 and Mac OS X.
