Microsoft has disabled the functionality that allowed Hotmail users to check their mail with Microsoft Entourage or Outlook Express. In an effort to bolster Hotmail’s security, users must now check their mail through the Hotmail Web site. Hotmail folders may disappear from the email client in the process. For users who prefer to check their mail with an email client rather than over the Web, there’s always Apple’s iTools with its free mac.com email account.
