Aladdin Systems today announced StuffIt Deluxe 6.5, a new version of its compression utility that extends Mac OS X functionality and includes StuffIt Express Personal Edition. StuffIt Express PE allows users to create scriptable drop-box applications that can perform a number of tasks, such as compressing a file, uploading it to a server, and emailing it to another individual. Version 6.5 also adds StuffIt’s Magic Menu to Mac OS X, includes support for Palm OS downloads, and a DropTar utility for compressing files and folders in that format. StuffIt Deluxe 6.5 is available now for US$79.95; upgrades are $19.95.
