Brother today announced two new color inkjet multi-function printers. The MFC-3100c and MFC-5100c both offer color fax, printing, copying, scanning, and capabilities. Both devices can print at resolutions up to 2400×1200 at 10 pages per minute for black text and 8 pages per minute for color. The US$299 MFC-5100c offers additional capabilities over the $199 MFC-3100c, including twice the memory (4MB), a larger document feed capacity, and a higher scanning resolution. The MFC-3100c will ship in early October while the MFC-5100c is slated to ship in later that month.
