Canon introduces 4-Megapixel Powershot G2 camera

Canon has also announced a new 4-megapixel offering in their Powershot line of digital cameras. The new Canon PowerShot G2 — essentially a supped-up version of its predecessor (the G1) — is the company’s first camera to offer a 1/1.8-inch, 4.0 megapixel CCD sensor — allowing users to produce full-color, high-resolution images up to 2272 x 1704 pixels. The Powershot G2 will be available in September and retail for US$999. Further details are available in the company’s press release.
