Apple is ranked as the 49th most valuable brand (PDF), according to the August 6, 2001 issue of Business Week. Apple’s brand value is pegged at US$5.46 billion, down from last year’s $6.59 billion. “Apple continues to churn out eye-pleasing products but struggles to find takers beyond the core Mac faithful,” reads the company’s description, as noted by MacSurfer. Coca-Cola ($68.95B), Microsoft ($65.07B), IBM, GE, and Nokia round out the top 5; Sony comes in at 20th, Compaq at 24th, Oracle at 25th, and Dell at 32nd.
