VDMX Mixes QuickTime live, without hardware

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mix QuickTime live, without hardware, thanks to VDMX

VIDVOX a company dedicated to multimedia research, development and
services, is proud to announce the launch of its flagship product, VDMX
QuickTime Mixer for Macintosh. VDMX is a robust software-based video mixer
optimized for real-time control and mixing of any audio visual material.
VDMX can seamlessly mix live video with disk-based QuickTime files, a feat
which was previously only possible using dedicated hardware or slow
rendering — with VDMX, all mixing and effects happen in real-time,
completely in software.

At a glance, VDMX features include: cut, crossfade and keying of two
sources, real-time effects which can be independently applied to each
source, temporal playback and mixing effects, tactile physical control over
scrubbing, playback speed and mixing, ram and disk recording, up to 2 live
video inputs, unique fontsynth technology, and all aspects of the program
are controllable from a master tap tempo or external MIDI clock, making
synchronized VJ shows a breeze.

VDMX is conceptually similar in design to hardware video mixers commonly
used for live video production, making VDMX an ideal solution for streaming
media production and VJ’s. Instead of carrying around an expensive and
bulky hardware video mixer, all one needs is a Powerbook and VDMX.

Johnny DeKam, developer of VDMX and Principal of VIDVOX elaborates: “The
architecture and interface of VDMX is unique, and has been in development
for over a year. In that time it has been utilized for many concerts and
productions worldwide, which has helped me to optimize VDMX for real-time
use. I’m really excited about the release of VDMX… it clearly represents
the type of boundry-pushing work that VIDVOX is working on.”

VDMX is available now for immediate download at the Vidvox website —

for the retail price of $499(US). A free, Tryout version is also available.
