REWIND FAST FORWARDS TO VERSION 1.1

Power On Updates Macworld Best of Show Winner for Mac OS 9.1

Columbus, Ohio – January 18, 2001 – Power On Software, Inc. today announced
that it has released a new version of its Macworld Best of Show
award-winning utility, Rewind. The new version adds interface
enhancements, support for Mac OS 9.1, and addresses a number of usability
and performance issues. Rewind is a unique new product that automatically
provides continuous protection to a user’s system and data from the moment
it is installed. Rewind is ideal for all Macintosh users, from beginners
and novices to users in critical production environments. Rewind provides
the ability to recover from errors or accidental data loss and to revive
frozen or misbehaving systems instantly.

Rewind Version 1.1 offers the following enhancements:

* Inclusion of support for Mac OS 9.1

* Added the ability to display specific types of events in the Rewind Disks
window with a new filter popup menu

* Updated the user interface to provide a more familiar and modern look

* Modified to significantly reduce situations where Internet Explorer would
report it was out of memory and could not open new windows

* Updated to address situations where Rewind did not remove outdated files
to ensure user space preferences were maintained.

“Rewind is a critical product for protecting a user’s data and system,”
said John Wallace, President of Power On Software. “It is unique and
essential, and we are working hard to make certain that Rewind releases
follow Apple System software releases in close proximity. Rewind for Mac OS
X is our next major milestone.”

Reviewers continue to lavish praise on Rewind’s capabilities. MacDirectory
notes, “This program has almost infinite applications, all of which can
save you hours of frustration and major headaches. It is a helpful utility
for all levels of Macintosh users.” Troubleshooting authority MacFixIt
noted, “our impression of Rewind is very positive.” Macsonly Publisher
and Editor-in-Chief, Bill Fox wrote “Rewind has saved my bacon twice. I’m a
believer!”
