MacTech Central: Developer Central/Net Innovators Join Together

MACTECH CENTRAL: THE NEW AREA FOR TECHIES OF ALL TYPES AT MACWORLD EXPO!

Developer Central and Net Innovators Evolve into one New Area.

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., November 3, 2000 — Xplain Corporation is pleased
to announce that Developer Central and Net Innovators are merging to create
a new area: MacTech(sm) Central. The new, exclusive, Macintosh technical
pavilion will be wholly owned and managed by Xplain Corporation, the
publishers of MacTech(r) Magazine.

MacTech Central will be the premiere place for the technical audience
attending Macworld Expo — now all types of techies — including
programmers, web developers, net admins and techs of all types — have a
place focused on their specific needs. It’s the ultimate showcase for every
techie in Mac computing.

“The combination of these two special interest areas will give the
Macintosh technical community an incredible vehicle for experiencing the
latest and greatest technical products and services.” said Neil Ticktin,
CEO of Xplain Corporation and publisher of MacTech(r) Magazine. “As we’ve
watched the community, there’s been a natural convergence of developer and
Internet technologies. It is truly a case in which the whole is greater
than the sum of the parts.”

“MacTech Central represents the continuing market-driven evolution of one
of the
most successful and longest-running Macworld Conference & Expo special
interest areas. Attendees are able to test the increasing number of hot,
new tools and applications, and meet the experts and developers behind
those technologies,” said Rob Scheschareg, Vice President, Events for IDG
World Expo, producers of the Macworld Conference & Expo. “We are excited
about the new MacTech Central — and all of our special interest areas. The
Special Interest Environments have always been a successful platform
allowing Macworld Conference & Expo attendees to hands-on test the latest
and hottest technologies, products and solutions for their unique needs.”

As always, there will be a dedicated selling area hosted by Developer
Depot, where attendees can get the best deals on hot technologies at the
show. Exhibitors will concentrate on demonstrating to attendees, and the
Depot, with its world renowned customer service, will be there to take care
of customers’ buying needs.
