Qilan 1.0: Internet Database for Mac OS X

PRESS RELEASE
CommonGround Softworks Inc. Announces Qilan 1.0

HOOKSETT, NEW HAMPSHIRE – May 18, 2000 – CommonGround Softworks Inc. today
announces the release of Qilan version 1.0, a new software development
tool for producing powerful internet database systems.

“Qilan is a database system designed to operate on a web server. It is a
complete environment for the creation of user entry/output screens, logical
data manipulation and data base access. With Qilan, the developer can
easily link SQL database engines with the world wide web.”

“Qilan can be used by developers who don’t like to program. Developers do
not have to know or rely upon SQL or remember complicated or intricate
symbols to create complex queries, manipulate data, or access databases.
The initial release of Qilan can access FrontBase and Openbase as backend
SQL database engines. It can also access non-SQL Helix Server databases”

“Qilan works with your existing databases and web development tools.
Developers merely need to create an access to their database. Qilan
provides the tools to build complete professional web-based applications
based on that data.”

“We feel that developers will appreciate the Qilan graphical user
environment. The environment provides the power and flexibility of working
in a code level language (iteration and recursion are supported!), without
syntax problems and better construction speed. A developer can deliver a
product to the customer faster.”

“Qilan provides a cost effective, integrated, and easy-to-use tool to
provide an Enterprise strength business presence on the web. Qilan can
enable access to different databases in multiple locations from a single
web page”

The Qilan development environment is a native Mac OS X Server application.

CommonGround Softworks Inc. is a recently formed software company whose
mission is to create Internet database connectivity software for the Mac OS.
