PRODUCTS, SEMINARS AND SPECIAL FEATURES

Framingham, MA, April 18, 2000 A record number of new products for the
Macintosh platform are expected to be showcased by more than 400 leading
Mac developers and suppliers at MACWORLD Conference & Expo/New York, July
18-21, 2000 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Encompassing more
than 100,000 net sq. ft. of exhibit space, hundreds of new software,
hardware and peripherals and services for “all things Macintosh” will be on
display for the first time to tens-of-thousands of Mac enthusiasts.

“We are expecting a record number of exhibitors, attendees, and new product
offerings for the East Coast MACWORLD Conference & Expo,” predicted Rob
Scheschareg, Vice President, Events for IDG World Expo, the MACWORLD
Conference & Expo show producers. “The tremendous popularity of Apple
products and the continued growth in the number of Mac products and
software developers is generating phenomenal interest among Mac users and
first time computer owners.”

A wide variety of new products, ranging from digital video and movie-making
equipment and software to the latest peripherals for the top selling iMac
and iBook, will be unveiled for the first time at MACWORLD Conference &
Expo/New York. New Internet-enabled applications and services, monitors and
displays, projectors, digital cameras, storage devices and hard drives will
be available throughout the exhibit floor, as well as SCSI to USB
converters and many FireWireTM and USB products. There is also great
anticipation for the new MAC OS X and a number of supporting applications
and products that will be on display for the first time.

As the worlds most comprehensive Macintosh OS event, MACWORLD Conference &
Expo brings together both professional and home Mac users. Last years
MACWORLD Conference & Expo/New York attracted 45,000 attendees and over 375
exhibitors to the Javits Center. This years event will mark the 3rd time
MACWORLD Conference & Expo has been held in New York and the 16th time it
has been held on the East Coast, including 13 years in Boston.

Comprehensive Conference Program
In addition to the hundreds of new products on display, this years
MACWORLD Conference & Expo/New York conference program will feature dozens
of hot new courses as well as updated presentations of the most popular
programs from past shows. The week begins with 16 full-day, Pre-Conference
Workshops that provide in-depth training on key products and technologies.

These insightful sessions are followed by a series of valuable seminars
geared to both the professional and home user. The MACWORLD/Pro Conference,
for professional users, will offer more than 40 technically advanced
sessions in 5 tracks including:

1.) Macintosh Networking and Communications
2.) Digital Video and Streaming Media
3.) Advanced Tools for Mac professionals
4.) Special Art Directors Day
5.) The Mac Manager

Meanwhile, the MACWORLD Users Conference will feature more than 70 sessions
for Mac users who want to master the top Mac tools and get answers to
problems common to non-technical users.

MACWORLD Conference & Expo/New York 2000 will also feature the launch of
MacBeginningsintroductory sessions open to all attendees. These
high-energy informative sessions will provide first-time attendees and new
Mac users a starting point to enter the Mac community.

Also returning this year will be the always popular MACWORLD Conference &
Expo Warm-Up Rally to provide conference attendees with a preview of the
“hot” items they will see at the show, and the MACWORLD Conference & Expo
Town Meeting where industry analysts and insiders will discuss the state of
the Mac industry as well as major announcements from the exhibit floor.

Expanded Special Interest Areas
In keeping with the record-setting theme of this years MACWORLD Conference
& Expo/New York, ten special interest areas focusing on specific Mac
applications and disciplines will be offered. Ranging from the popular
Consumer Showcase and Education Areas to the brand new Assistive Technology
Area, these pavilions will provide industry-specific solutions to
attendees broad range of unique needs.

“MACWORLD Conference & Expo/New York promises to be the biggest and best
East Coast event ever produced,” Scheschareg opined. “There will be
something here for every level of Mac user,” he emphasized.
