SITECAM 4.0 SHIPS WITH NEW LIVE VIDEO BROADCASTER AND INTEGRATED WEB SERVER

— Powerful, Easy-to-Use SiteCam 4.0 Now Serves Web Pages With Live
Video Streaming, Time-Lapse QuickTime Movies, And Much More —

ALAMEDA, Calif., June 22, 1999 — Rearden Technology today announced
it’s now shipping SiteCam 4.0, now with a new, integrated Web server,
and an updated, more powerful streaming video engine. Previously
designed to work alongside a standard Mac OS Web server, such as
Apple’s ASIP or StarNine’s WebSTAR, now SiteCam 4.0 can serve video
images and HTML pages independent of a separate Web server for vastly
improved video streaming performance. SiteCam 4.0 is low-cost,
high-performance Web Cam software featuring powerful capabilities
designed for the corporate Webmaster or serious hobbyist including,
image archiving, built-in FTP, motion detection, full scriptability,
multi-camera support, and quick set-up guides. SiteCam 4.0 runs on
any Macintosh on your network that has video-input. Regularly priced
at $199, SiteCam 4.0 is available today directly from Rearden
Technology at (http://www.rearden.com/) for a special introductory
price of $149 through August (for upgrade, educational and multi-pack
pricing see the “pricing and availability” section below).
“SiteCam 4.0 makes it easy and affordable to add a full-featured Web Cam to
any site,” noted Brad Lowe, president and CEO at Rearden Technology.
“Our low-cost, high-performance software allows anyone with a network
connection
to serve their own Web pages featuring live video. Even users with a simple
modem connection can use SiteCam to record and upload images to their
remote Web site.”

New, Integrated Web Serving
The new, integrated Web server in SiteCam 4.0 serves multimedia-laden
Web pages featuring real-time live streaming video, live video
snapshots, time-lapse QuickTime movies and archived images. SiteCam
uses a “multi-document” approach that captures video at various image
formats using different image sizes, compression formats, and quality
settings. Images can be labeled with text and graphics.

Web surfers don’t need to install any plugins or run any third-party
applications to see the live camera. SiteCam live streaming video is
viewable from any browser that supports either Java or Netscape’s
“server-push” video format. SiteCam automatically adjusts to the
client software’s net connection for glitch-free viewing. By
utilizing standard HTTP protocols, SiteCam is available to the
maximum number of users and avoids the headaches associated with
blocking by firewalls and routers.

From periodic still images to streaming video, SiteCam gives
Webmasters complete control over the final image. A logo, time stamp,
or background image can be added to each frame. Images can be
cropped, rotated, and flipped for just the right presentation.
Simultaneously, SiteCam can capture time-lapse movies allowing an
hour or an entire day’s worth of images to be played back in a
compact Internet-ready QuickTime movie. SiteCam video sites can be
made public or privately available only to people with a registered
user name and password.

System Requirements
SiteCam 4.0 can run on any Macintosh (68020 or newer, PowerPC
preferred) with Mac OS System 7.6 or higher and QuickTime 2.5 or
higher (4.0 recommended), over a MacTCP v.2.0.6 or Open Transport
v.1.1.1 or higher (preferred) network. Using 2MB disk space plus
storage for any number of historical images, SiteCam can take input
from any QuickTime compliant video source, including any
multimedia-enhanced Apple Macintosh or any QuickCam.

Pricing and Availability
Available today for a special introductory price of $149 through
August, SiteCam 4.0 is normally priced at $199, or $499 for a 5-pack
