LINCOLN, NE — January 21, 1998 — MindVision Software announces an
updated preview release of MindExpander(tm), the FREE application
that automatically expands .sit, .sea, .bin and .hqx files. It is
available for downloading at (http://www.mindvision.com/consumer).

“At MacWorld we introduced a new choice for Internet file expansion.
Today we demonstrate our commitment to rapid turnaround,” said
MindVision CEO Steve Kiene. “Since January 4, we’ve heard lots of
feedback from our users. In a matter of days, we’ve improved
performance, fixed bugs, and further streamlined the user interface.
We’re committed to providing solutions as quickly as possible.”

Not only is MindExpander FREE, so is the iBeetle! Throughout the
month of January, download and run MindExpander to register to win
MindVision’s FREE Volkswagen iBeetle. Pictures of the iBeetle are
available at (http://www.mindvision.com/consumer). We will give away
the iBeetle in a drawing at the end of the month.

This release of MindExpander offers the following improvements:
– MindExpander 0.91 works well with proxy servers, including those
that require user authentication. This fixes self-updating and
registration troubles that some proxy server users were experiencing.

– MindExpander now uses less memory. Everything happens in 700K.

– Live links make it easy to send feedback and visit our web site.

– Fixed problems with handling encrypted files, identifying some
MacBinary files, and running from locked volumes.

MindExpander expands standard Internet files and helps users get to
the files they’re downloading sooner with less hassle. MindExpander
is smaller, runs faster, and uses less memory than other
decompression programs. The first of a new family of consumer
utilities, MindExpander gives Mac users a new freedom of choice.
