[NPL] Enterprise Minder 3.0

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NetMind Launches New Enterprise Minder 3.0

New Features Notify Users of Changes to Important Web-based
Information Anytime, Anywhere

DAVID COURSEY’S SHOWCASE 99/SAN DIEGO, CA -January 18, 1999- NetMind
Technologies, Inc., the leading supplier of Change Detection
solutions for the enterprise and consumer markets, today announced
version 3.0 of Enterprise Minder, which will be shown for the first
time publicly at David Coursey’s Showcase ’99 in San Diego,
California. Enterprise Minder is NetMind’s corporate solution for
intranets and extranets that provides an easy way for employees to
track important business and personal Web-based information, then be
notified of these changes via email or wireless devices. Version 3.0
offers powerful new personalization, customization and security
features designed to make viewing, editing and notifying of changes
even easier for the corporate employee, with no added effort by the
IT manager. David Coursey hand-picked NetMind to demonstrate on-stage
at Showcase ’99 to show the power of Change Detection software for
the enterprise market.

“The way for corporations to get the most out of their intranets and
extranets is to make the information personal to employees,” said
Matt Freivald, president and CEO of NetMind Technologies, Inc.
“NetMind can help you do this. Employees have complete control over
what they monitor and can personalize and customize Enterprise Minder
as much as they wish with little IT involvement. Corporations can
then better leverage their intranet by monitoring which information
is being actively tracked and which information isn’t.”

Minder Central

The most significant change to Enterprise Minder 3.0 is Minder
Central – a personal Web page where users can view everything they
need to know about the Web information they are monitoring. At a
glance, users can view the entire list of URLs they’ve chosen to
track, quickly see which pages have changed and easily edit their
preferences if necessary.

Security

New security features in Enterprise Minder 3.0 include SSL and NTLM
compatibility to be able to monitor secure Web pages.

Priority Notification

Now, users have a choice of how they want to be notified of important
changes – via email, Minder Central (on the Web) or email-enabled
wireless devices, such as a cell phone or PDA. For example, if the
inventory recorded on an intranet is low and the operations manager
is traveling, Enterprise Minder will send a message to the manager
via cell phone when the inventory level falls below a specified
threshold. Now the manager knows exactly when, what and how much to
reorder – even when away from the office. For changes to
time-critical information, Enterprise Minder can reach you whenever
and wherever you are.

Persistent Search

Since hundreds of new Web pages are indexed daily by the major search
engines, it’s impossible to know when new information is posted to a
search unless the search is physically repeated. Enterprise Minder
3.0 will now “mind” any query conducted with the major search
engines. Enterprise Minder “remembers” your search requirements and
the initial list, and as additional Web pages are indexed that fit
this criteria, Enterprise Minder will send a notification. For events
like research projects, this feature is a significant time-saver.

Bookmark Import

Now, for the first time ever, users can easily import existing
bookmarks and monitor those pages for changes. As these bookmarks are
now Web-based, they can be accessed from any computer anywhere. A
related feature called Bookmark Sync lets users continually sync up
their browser bookmarks with Enterprise Minder automatically and
bidirectionally.

“As more and more people are using the Internet and intranets for
secure information, it’s key for technologies such as ours to allow
users to be able to monitor this important data,” continued
Freivalod. “Security is one the keys for broad adoption of e-commerce
over the Internet. Enterprise Minder’s SSL compatibility now supports
secure e-commerce applications.”

About Enterprise Minder

Enterprise Minder is the ultimate IT intranet productivity solution.
Its strength lies in its ability for the user to maintain control
over the information they want to track, while actually decreasing
bandwidth and administrative issues for IT managers. Enterprise
Minder is a server-side software solution that offers IT
administrators all the benefits of central administration, customized
bandwidth utilization and data reporting capabilities. In addition,
Enterprise Minder eliminates much of the overhead needed to regularly
scan Web pages for changes, a requirement needed in most client-based
products. In fact, when installed enterprise-wide, Enterprise Minder
can cut bandwidth utilization by 15 – 50 percent. Enterprise Minder
is a self-managing application, which means users are able to update
and modify their accounts without involving central IT, and many
administrative tasks, such as purging bad Web pages and bad email
addresses, are handled automatically by the server. Finally,
Enterprise Minder is very simple to install and can be up and running
in as little as 10 minutes on a corporate server.
