METROWERKS INTRODUCES CODEWARRIOR FOR PALMPILOT, APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT
TOOLS HOSTED ON WINDOWS 95/NT & MAC OS

CodeWarrior Tools for U.S. Robotics’ PalmPilot Connected Organizers To
Include New Visual Resource Editing

AUSTIN, Texas-April 28, 1997-Metrowerks Inc. (NASDAQ: MTWKF, TSE/ME: MWK),
one of the world’s leading providers of software development tools, today
announced CodeWarrior for PalmPilot DR/2 (“Developer Release 2”) hosted
on Windows 95/NT and Mac OS. CodeWarrior for PalmPilot features the
CodeWarrior Integrated Development Environment (“IDE”) and allows software
developers to build applications for the new PalmPilot Professional and
PalmPilot Personal Connected Organizers from U.S. Robotics.

“We are pleased to announce the availability of CodeWarrior for PalmPilot
hosted on both Windows 95/NT and Mac OS,” said Jean Blanger, chairman and
chief executive officer of Metrowerks. “This is the first release of our
PalmPilot tools hosted on Windows 95/NT. Now Windows developers can access
the same easy-to-use CodeWarrior tools for PalmPilot that the Mac developer
community has enjoyed since 1996. We are especially pleased to introduce
new visual editing tools for developing PalmPilot applications. We believe
our Constructor for PalmPilot will set a new standard in user interface
design tools for connected organizers and PDAs.”

New Features
CodeWarrior for PalmPilot DR/2 now offers direct-to-device debugging
support for Palm OS 1.0 from both Windows 95/NT and Mac OS, and a new
visual interface design editor (or resource editor), Constructor for Palm
OS. Constructor for Palm OS allows users to interactively create and
design graphical user interfaces simply by selecting objects (such as
windows, menu bars, etc.) from a palette and placing them where they should
appear in the final Palm OS application. When U.S. Robotics releases the
Palm OS 2.0 system headers and libraries, they will be shipped to all
CodeWarrior for PalmPilot registered users free of charge.

Pricing and Availability
CodeWarrior for PalmPilot DR/2 is available now for a suggested retail
price of US$369 direct from Metrowerks and Metrowerks’ authorized
distributors. Registered users receive two free updates and technical
support.
