MacTech Brings on New Editor-in-Chief

Westlake Village, CA — June 5, 1996 — Xplain Corporation, publisher of
MacTech(tm) Magazine, is proud to announce it has engaged Will Iverson as
Editor-in-Chief of MacTech Magazine — representing further growth in our
editorial staff.

Will has been involved with the Macintosh since 1990, and with Apple computers
since 1986. He has a background in publishing and software development. He
worked as a small independent Macintosh developer and lecturer since 1993, and
joined Symantec Corporation last year as Macintosh Developer Relations Manager.
During his time there, he played a critical role in defining and building
Symantec’s image as a leading development tools player in both the C++ and Java
markets. In addition, he developed “Caffeine” and “Cafe Studio” for Cafe for
Macintosh, Symantec’s successful Java development tool. He has spoken at
numerous conferences, including Apple’s World Wide Developers’ Conference,
Macworld Expo, and the MacHack Conference.

Will will be taking over the role of Editor-in-Chief from Neil Ticktin who
continues as Publisher. “The addition of the separate Editor-in-Chief position
represents Xplain’s continued and increasing commitment to bring quality
information to Macintosh developers. It also reflects the continued growth and
success of one of the longest running Mac magazines — now in it’s 12th year.”
said Neil Ticktin, Publisher of MacTech Magazine. “Will’s hands on approach
and up-to-date knowledge in today’s development environments/issues including
Java will help to keep the magazine on the cutting edge.”

The creation of a separate Editor-in-Chief position is in addition to our
existing editorial staff (e.g., Matt Neuburg continues as Editor) and the
Editorial Board MacTech created in 1995.
